Oversouls of the Tarot: The Devil
- First of all: What the heck is an oversoul of the tarot?? An oversoul is sort of like a guardian that takes on the characteristics of whatever it is they're watching over, and they become that thing. In this case, the oversoul of the tarot are energies that have worked with the cards and hung around them for long enough to gain a sort of sentience. They're very much like thoughtforms and Immortals combined, because you can't ever really run out of an oversoul, it's there to help everyone whenever they need it.
This Oversoul is The Devil. In my personal opinion this is one of the most misunderstood cards in the Major Arcana. Many interpret this card as fear and entrapment, when in fact its meaning is quite different. In the Rose Knight tarot you have two beings, apparently chained to the Devil. He looms over them, and they appear to be praying for help. However, the Devil never would have been allowed to chain them if they truly did not want to be chained. He holds up a sparkler to reveal that he is not in fact as bad as they have painted him to be. In the Vampyre tarot this message is slightly more clear. These people are reveling in being with the full, sinful physicality that the Devil brings to them. The have chains, but they don't seem very enslaved. They chose to come to him, to learn and experience all of what he has to offer.
Unlike our other spirits we sell exclusively, these beings will not come with portraits, as they already have their images emblazoned forever on these lovely cards.
With all spirits, please provide your full real name and date of birth, as well as your zodiac sign for the binding process and your email. If you wish to have the spirit bound to a vessel that you have, or to have them bound directly to your spirit, please choose the appropriate option and we will refund any shipping charges that incur.
Anything non-spirit related can be returned for a refund. Because of their nature, however, spirits cannot be returned. So please make sure the calling you feel is strong before you choose a spirit, as it is a lifetime commitment. In extreme cases if something goes wrong and the spirit and keeper do not bond, we will rehome the spirit and give you in-store credit. We will not accept returns because of a sudden change of heart.
